The Heart is Poland's leading venture builder – a co-founder that builds companies together with founders, scientists, and experienced operators, from the first idea through growth and exit, with a strong focus on the commercialization of technology and science.
We operate at the intersection of four worlds: founders, academia, corporates, and capital – integrating them into one ecosystem where every new relationship compounds the value of every project we build. We work across three models: Accelerate (supporting founders with early traction in scaling and fundraising), Incubate (deep co-creation from idea to investment readiness), and Spin-off (full venture formation around scientific IP). We don't invest capital – we invest expertise, structure, and ecosystem access, staying with founders through every stage of building.
Role Overview
At The Heart, we partner with leading corporations, founders, scientists, and investors to create and scale technology ventures from scratch.
As our portfolio grows, we're looking for a Head of Venture Building to lead our Venture Building team, and drive the strategy, fundraising and performance of our venture portfolio. You will shape how ventures are selected, validated, built, and scaled, ensuring our venture-building platform operates with speed, quality, and repeatability.
What You’ll Do
- Own and manage The Heart's venture portfolio and pipeline
- Make Go / No-Go / Pivot / Scale decisions
- Allocate resources across ventures and priorities
- Lead and develop the Venture Building team
- Own and evolve The Heart Method, playbooks, and frameworks
- Support founders in key venture decisions
- Coordinate collaboration with corporate partners, investors, and experts
- Drive portfolio performance, validation speed, and operational excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in startups, venture building, VC/CVC, innovation, or company building
- Experience managing multiple projects, ventures, or business units simultaneously
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience working closely with founders
- High ownership, strong decision-making, and execution mindset
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and fast-changing environments
- Investment judgment / Fundability sense
Nice to have:
- Experience on both the operational and investment side of venture creation
- Experience building ventures from idea to traction
- Fundraising, investment readiness, or portfolio management experience
- Experience evaluating venture fundability and investor attractiveness
- Experience working with scientific founders, university spin-offs, or deep-tech ventures, with a strong understanding of technology commercialization and venture creation.
